Valentine's Day Party Pack
Upcycled Wine Bottle Lighted Centerpiece
Cookie Box
and Valentines for Guests

I had an idea and just had to keep running until I finished.  I wanted to use as many 3 Girl JAM products as possible to show everyone how wonderful each and every item truly is to craft with.
I was able to use
Crinkle Ribbon
Twine

Flair Buttons
and
the Bow Maker

I  can honestly say that this was the first time I was able to really envision a project and have the outcome be exactly what I was hoping for when I finished.
♥-♥-♥-♥-♥-♥-♥-♥-♥

I started with an empty Sangria Bottle...mmmmmm (LOL).  As I was peeling the label off, I realized how sticky it was and decided to stick the label to a piece of clear plastic from my stash.  I then punched out about 20 hearts with my handheld puncher (not sure of the brand, cuz I have had it for years).  Now I had handmade stickers to use on the bottle for the next step.
^^^rough draft (lol)^^^
I placed the hearts all over the front of the bottle.  Then my sweet hubby, Lance,  spray painted the bottle for me  using Krylon Glitter Blast - Cherry Bomb.  It was fun to watch him because he ended up with the "Grabbing Rainbows" Hands.  The nozzle stuck a bit and the glitter paint spewed uncontrollably as he continued to spray the bottle . . . LOL.  He was so afraid the bottle would run out before he could finish the back side of the bottle.  All was well, though.  I just L♥VE the finished sparkle the paint gave the bottle, too!  The stickers were just peeled off after the paint dried to create small heart "windows".

For my Cookie Box, I used a DIY Valentine Mailbox I picked up at one of the local dollar stores last year.  I simply spruced it up using Crinkle Ribbon by 3 Girl JAM.  The two red colors are
Red - from the July 2012 Special Bundle (not available at this time) and Holly Berry from the Winter Bundle.  I wrapped the red first (like a present) then created a "Bunched Bow" using my Bow Maker .  Let me tell you, this thing has taken my crafting to an entirely different level.
I ♥ my 3GJ Bow Maker

All of the cards were created similarly, just with different stamps, inks, and embellishing.  All of the card stock is from my Scrap Stash.
New Release Angel Stick Pin by Pinque Peacock
Flair Buttons by 3 Girl JAM
Many, Many Stamps by Unity Stamp Co.

WCMD with UNITY STAMP CO. - #3 Embossing Challenge

Well, I am a day late in celebrating, but
I didn't let that stop me from
creating with
my favorite
Red Rubbah Stamps

They hosted 8 challenges yesterday
in celebration of
World Card Making Day
at their wonderful
Each challenge was a
great opportunity
to get out my stamps and play.
I feel like I had been neglecting them
for far too long...LOL

So I decided to work on the Embossing Challenge (#3) first.
You might ask, "Why start in the middle?"
  Well, I went for
a small shopping trip to my LSS last night
to get adhesive and found
an adorable Fall Word Art
Embossing Folder by Darice for $1.00.

My card base is Kraft card stock (5x7 folded)
I decided to spray the embossing folder
with some of my Olive Green Smooch Spritz.
Then I sprayed a tad bit of water over that for even coverage.
I wound my Natural Color card stock by Wausau Paper, through my Big Shot.
While that was drying
and got inky.
 *ENABLER ALERT*
This set is currently on sale at Unity
for  47% off -
That's ONLY $9.99.

I inked it up the word art sentiment from the set
with my new Ranger Big and Bossy embossing ink pad
then sprinkled red embossing powder over it.
I grabbed a small paint brush and put a light coat of the embossing ink
on one of the raised leaves on my embossed card stock.
While that waited for me, I dipped my sentiment mat (wood grain paper)
in the ink and sprinkled gold embossing powder over it.
I used the same technique on another leaf, just with the gold this time.
After heat embossing all of these areas, I decided to add a bit of orange
embossing powder around the edge of my sentiment.

The fall leaf paper in the background (and wood grain from earlier)
is from  the K&Company set Pumpkin Pie.
I inked the Thank You in Vintage Photo, then inked around all the
edges of any card stock that was left untouched.
I raised both sentiments on the front up from their mats
using 3D foam squares.

I added some Halloween Harvest Crinkle Ribbon
from 3 Girl JAM   behind the embossed mat and the word art sentiment.

I then inked the Blessings...sentiment and created a mat
from the same leaf card stock on the front.
This was for the inside sentiment of the card.
A few green pearls, and the card was complete.

**2nd ENABLER ALERT**
You can get the fun *NEW* Seasons Bundle
for only $6.99
Then get crafty with your ribbon
and enter the new

Thank You so Much for stopping in
to see my card and I sure hope you enjoyed it!

Challenge #2 - Pink By Design 2nd Year Anniversary PARTY

OK,
So I made some good use out of my dry time
on Challenge #1
and got busy working on a Christmas Card
I started by inking the Small Hexagons
(my favorite PBD Stamp thus far...)
using 3 ink shades:
TH Distress -forest moss-
TH Distress -barn door-
Quick Quotes - Green with Envy

The bottom layer is the exact size of the stamp
and then the middle and top layers were trimmed to
give a layered effect.

The sentiment inside the circle tag, is from the Mini Wrappers stamp set.
I used a circle stamp from my jillibean Dutch Mustard Soup set by Unity Stamp Co.
to give a border around the sentiment.
I then punched it out using my 2" round punch.
The red twine is from doodlebug designs and
the green twine is from K Andrew.

I also used some 3D Foam Squares for each layer
to give a nice touch of dimension!

The base card stock is Core'dinations Pearl (cream color)

For every correct answer in the "I Spy" game, you
will earn 2 entries towards
the
Celebration Blog Candy Giveaway!

Here are the
"I Spy"
questions:

1.  Back in March 2011, I completed a Heritage Collage to honor
a noteworthy person that fell in my ancestral lineage.
Who is that noteworthy person?
http://jessicascraftshaque.blogspot.com/2011/03/heritage-wisdom-and-advice.html

2.  I have a large family and each year we enjoy our Family Reunion.
I completed a layout in May 2011
to showcase all of the family members that attended in the year 2008.
As of the time the photos in the layout were taken,
How many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren did my mother have?
http://jessicascraftshaque.blogspot.com/2011/05/family-reunion-lo-with-generational.html

3.  I enjoy delving into many different techniques, art projects, and home decor.
I love to make wreaths as often as time allows.
I did a search of my own blog to be sure you would get the answer I get.....
Out of all the projects that are pulled up when I searched my blog for WREATH,
How many wreaths do you see?
(be sure to click on Newer Posts at the bottom of the page to see more)
http://jessicascraftshaque.blogspot.com/search?q=wreath

4.  If you know me at all, you know how much I love Unity.  So when you click on the tag/label on my sidebar that says Unity Stamps, scroll through the projects that are shown
and tell me the Post Title of your personal favorite project!
[No Link Provided...I can't make the game TOO EASY   :o)  ]
I have added the fun "I Spy" Picture for your ease in finding the Labels section

 5.  I MOST enjoy GIVING, but like any other crafter who gets an opportunity to win fun craft goodies, I am delighted to find out I have been chosen as a winner.  Whether it be during a Blogaversary giveaway, a Follower Appreciation giveaway, a Craft Challenge, or any
other type of drawing.
To show my appreciation I do a series on MONDAYS (when, and if, it applies)
to shout out to the wonderful Sponsors of the Challenges and Giveaways.
What is the name of this MONDAY installment series at my blog?
Be sure to provide the full name!!!
(No Link Provided . . . get your thinking caps on!!!!)

6.  Referring again to question #5, peek through all of those MONDAY posts.
Tell me the name of a Challenge Blog, Site or Sponsor you are
just now hearing about for the first time from viewing these posts?

7.  Did you visit the Challenge Blog, Site or Sponsor by clicking any given link
in the post?  If so, tell me one thing about their site that you most enjoy  and do you think
you will you return to their site again?

This concludes the "I Spy" game and remember, most of all

After completing a lot of layouts for the
Spellbinders Paper Arts
contest
to benefit
Crops of Luv,

I decided to change it back up
and finish a card tonight.

I was inspired to use
Joan's Sketch

and to use the current theme for the
#4 Challenge ~ Butterflies and Handmade Flowers

I chose a black and purple theme that
coordinated with my butterfly dp.

The scallop "banners" were cute using a cut from Lacy Labels.

Unity Stamps that I used include:
(for the center of my hand made flower/inside the bottle cap)

sentiment from {Ippity} set BE BRAVE...BRANCH OUT
inked on vellum and then heat embossed

and some foliage/berries from the{Ippity} set Where You Should Be
inked and heat embossed

For my HANDMADE FLOWER
I created it in several layers
 (for the bottle cap center)
1. cutting a 3/4" circle from Lacy Labels
2. inking it with a soft lilac Studio G ink
3. stamping the flower and embossing it with black powder
4. adding the small black pearl
5. spraying a mist of Perfect Pearls
6. gluing the circle to a bottle cap
7. adding a bit of alcohol ink (peridot)

8. adhering the bottle cap to the white cirlce (1")
9. using my MS Scroll Lace corner punch to create the petals

around the perimeter of the white circle

10. adhering those layers to a purple circle (2")
then to another white circle (2 1/4")
11. The outside "petals" were created by twisting
of the last white circle.

I hope you enjoy my creation!

New Blogger Changes and Painting some Unity (FWF)

OK so this will be my first post in the "new blogger" screens.

Wish Me Luck!

It doesn't look like much changed here and I do like how the page header/toolbar stays put and doesn't require you to keep scrolling up and back down through your post every time you need to add a link to a blog or add a picture....that used to be somewhat tiresome.  And wow, I think
that Blogger took its vitamins today, too.  My pictures never loaded this fast!!!!

TWO THUMBS UP
for the New Blogger Changes!!!

I finished another card to enter in the Friends with Flair Friday and for the color challenge going on right nowat Unity Stamp Co.  I had prepped the stamping and watercolors the other day
when I was playing with my paint set.

The flower stamp is from the Unity 03/12 KOM - {from head to soul).

I just inked it three times, while masking the previous image with a sheet of paper to create the bouquet look.  The diamond background is from the same KOM that I also painted.  I fussy cut the flowers and raised them up with foam squares.  The twine in the center is from doodlebug designs.  The papers are an assortment of textured cardstock by Darice, luxury stack by DCWV, and cream cardstock by Recollections.

Smile! It Suits You!! Chick Challenge #26

 Happy Sunday Evening Blends!

Be sure to scroll down to Hop with Softpencil Studios Blog Hop
and
just in case you missed any previous posts!!

Now, what did I get done today...lots of DT assignments, closed out some open ended projects,
house cleaning, a walk to the train depot with the DH and Kids and, yes and, I am jamming to some
fun retro songs on Pandora.  It is turning out to be a
fantastic Sunday.
I hope you are as blessed to be enjoying this Day!

I knew when I saw the new sketch over at Chick Challenges #26, that I just had
to get out my new Chevron Packing Tape to use on my card.

I chose to work with the color theme at Play Date Cafe, too.

The photo at PDCC has these adorable bathing suits, which prompted me
by Jillibean Soup

and for the sketch and a requirement for the Little Scrap Pieces, I used a flower stamp
AND
then just placed my sentiment inside a 2" yellow circle (cut with my punch)

I am entering the Chick Challenge #26
Outlawz GC40912 - Name Yourself Day (I used J-Jillibean Soup)

The rose in the center of the rosette is from Purple Pumpkin.
The image is colored using my Sugar Loaf Watercolor Pens.

For my card today, I started with a white card stock base.  I cut it at 6x6.  Then I cut the colored card stock into 2x2 squares (9 squares total).  I cut my dp (all from my stash) at 1 3/4 x 1 3/4.  I inked the white edges with a soft turquoise Studio G ink.  All of the die cuts that I used were a generous gift from my sweet Blend, Nataliya of Love Crafts Forever.  I used 3 separate Unity Stamps on my project, inked them with black Versa Ink, and heat embossed them with a black shiny embossing powder using my heating tool.  The stamps I used were Vintage Handwritten (Iron Orchid Itty Bitty) on the birdcage, a flower print on the bird is from  A Mother's Love, and the sentiment is from Dutch Mustard Soup (by Jillibean Soup). The roses are from I Am Roses and the corsage pin is one of my very own creations.  The bow at the top of the bird cage was created using

(lately I have really loved using my heat embossing tools.  Now pair that with Unity Stamps and I am in heaven....LOL)
The beads in my creation are one of my very own hand made corsage pins using
glass blown beads and clear plastic beads.

I also will be linking my project up to the current
Unity Stamp Co. -  Friends with Flair!!!
