What a wonderful weekend

Well, after dedicating my weekend to family, friends and blog hopping....I just got into the mood to craft.  It was nice to chillax with the kids and the hubby.  Not really doing anything stressful or too demanding.  Lounged around most of the weekend,  took in the sights from some great blog hops, watched a few movies, and stayed in my comfy clothes (you all know what I'm talking about....LOL)....

So I picked up my challenges list and found some inspiration to craft again.  Now, I have to warn you, my picture taking abilities are not up to par...I should have gotten my dd to help and after I posted them, I noticed my sentiment tag was hidden under the strip of buttons....oops...

I started with Kraft cs as my base
Fall Paper is Harvest Holiday by Cloud 9
Sentiement (digi) is from Sentiemental Sundays blog by Raindrop Echo Designs
Tree is from Graphically Speaking cut at 2 1/4"
Ink used is Studio G (emerald green, olive green, and indigo)
Buttons and Ribbon from stash

It was fun to try to keep it simple for a few of the challenge entries, but it does appear that I need more practice.  Maybe if the card was just all Kraft and no designer paper???  Sorry, just thinking out loud (or in type to be politically correct).

I also adore the leaves on this paper.  Did you know that it is the Oak Tree that bears Acorns???
This paper reminds me of something I learned a long time ago.  I don't recall who taught me this, but years and years ago I was told how to identify a White Oak Tree from a Red Oak Tree.  The Red Oak Tree has pointed shaped leaves where the White Oak Tree has rounded shaped leaves.  I was told that I could always remember by using this thinking:
The Red Man shot arrows (My Native American Ancestors)
The White Man shot bullets (My Eastern Ancestors)
That has stuck with me for many, many years. I even Googled it to be 100% positive before posting this tidbit of knowledge.

Here are the challenges I would like to enter with this card:
and
(VERY LOW ENTRIES...and Jenn is offering up some of her amazing Clay Roses to the winner...head on over and join in on the fun!!!

and even though, I am not entering this into Challenge #34 at Less is More, I did use the sketch for inspiration!!!

I hope you enjoy what you see and I always welcome comments and advice!!!
:O)
