Paper Cutz Challenge #91

Good Evening everyone.  Today has been a bit of a hectic day, but I have managed to complete a project that I needed to get done.  The fact that it fits into Paper Cutz Challenge #91 pushed me to meet my deadline a little early :O)!!!  Don't you just love it when that happens.

The card is for my nephew, who will graduate in several weeks and then be moving to Michigan where he will join his awesome girlfriend and begin this new chapter in his life.  He means the world to me, as do, all my nieces and nephews (all 40 of them, no kidding) and I also felt honored that he asked me to make him a banner for the party!
****The card is just a little bonus for him****

Recipe:
Texture Half Fold Cardstock -white
PP - DCWV Summer Dream Stack
Star cut at 5" from Cricut Classic Font
Banner at top - cut from Graphically Speaking at 2" and 2 1/2 "
White with red stitch Ribbon from stash
Red, White, and Blue rhinestones
Darice 3-D Foamies Stickers (covering star)
Inside sentiment printed on printer
Sentiment reads (pic is a bit blurry, sorry):
I have learned, that if one
advances confidently
in the direction of his dreams,
and endeavors to live
the life he has imagined,
he will meet with a success
unexpected in common hours.
Henry David Thoreau

I would love it if you comment
and share your thoughts
on my card!
Thanks for stopping by...
Jessica

Wall Decor from February 2011

Well, I wanted to participate in the Made It Myself Linky Party with You Had Me At Craft today and just needed to make it easy for fellow "linkers" to view my creation.  I blogged about this one way back in February, but this creation wasn't a stand alone creation on that day's blog.  So, I am just re-blogging to share it again.

Hope you like it.....

I was inspired by Amber Life, Love, Green www.lifelovegreen.com  to work on an altered frame.   Her "Old Key Wall Art" was gorgeous!!!   http://www.theiheartblog.com/2010/09/old-key-wall-art/

I had just recently purchased some rustic star accents, an old picture frame, and had a few lonely old yard flags laying around.   I am using a cardboard cutout for the base, patterned paper, and ribbon as well.   Curious to see my final project.
Thanks Amber!!!  :O)

OK, so as I am finishing my "altered frame", when it dawns on me that I am not working with a shadow box, therefore, it won't fit back in the frame, duh!  So, I came up with an idea for a two-sided wall decor.  One side is dedicated to Stars, Stripes, and Freedom.  The other is a Home Sweet Home picture.  It would have been nice to frame it, and maybe that will still happen, but this is what I was able to complete for now.

Giveaway Winner Testimonial

I hope this video load correctly.  I have tried so hard to get this work and want to give credit to Doris @ Mom of 5 Product Reviews and Giveaways for her generosity!   I find myself continuously scrolling through all the goodies and falling in love all over again each time I do.  Beautiful papers from tons of lines.  I made a video to show all the wonderful diversity of the entire package.  I can't wait to start using them.  The wheels started turning in my head from the time I opened the box.  My creative mind was given a jolt of electricity and the ideas keep rolling.

A HUGE THANKS TO DORIS AND I HOPE YOUR GENEROSITY IS REWARDED IN THE
FORM OF BEAUTIFUL KARMA!

(Please let me know if there are any problems viewing this video....THANKS)

I also want to ask that you take a quick moment from your busy schedule, as I know that time is precious, and hop over to Doris's Blog and peek at her wonderful talent.  My most favorite items that she created is by far, her Altered Box.

This is the image that was etched into my brain (talked about it on the video) even after the Paper Secrets Birthday Bash had ended.   FANTABULOUS DORIS!!!!
