Time to Gather the Peeps

Friday and Saturday were quite productive

when it came to finishing up

my Easter Cards to

give out to the family on Sunday.

I was really inspired my Tammy M.'s card she posted at Unity a few weeks ago, and wanted to give it a whirl with this month's Unity Sketch.

I gathered some fun pastel papers I had in my stash and

ultimately chose to go with the

Mabel "Little Lady" and Tres Bien both from MME!

I used my Lacy Labels cartridge to cut 

the scalloped oval at the top

and did a simple CAS layout for the rest of my cards.

The stamps I used are both from the March 2012 KOM

from head to soul

The ribbon I used is tulle from my stash, some Bakers Twine from the Twinery

and of course I had to use some of the scrumptious Crinkle Ribbon

from 3 Girl JAM!

I was able to use my Ice Blue and Goblin Green on a few of the cards above!

My Niece is having a blast in the Craft Room

Poking in for a brief HELLO and

to share this card that my 

fabulous 12 year old Niece, Amanda

created this afternoon!

It is so full of cheer and I love the color combo

she came up with.

She played with my scrap paper for a few hours and managed

to make 3 cards.

For my card today, I started with a white card stock base.  I cut it at 6x6.  Then I cut the colored card stock into 2x2 squares (9 squares total).  I cut my dp (all from my stash) at 1 3/4 x 1 3/4.  I inked the white edges with a soft turquoise Studio G ink.  All of the die cuts that I used were a generous gift from my sweet Blend, Nataliya of Love Crafts Forever.  I used 3 separate Unity Stamps on my project, inked them with black Versa Ink, and heat embossed them with a black shiny embossing powder using my heating tool.  The stamps I used were Vintage Handwritten (Iron Orchid Itty Bitty) on the birdcage, a flower print on the bird is from  A Mother's Love, and the sentiment is from Dutch Mustard Soup (by Jillibean Soup). The roses are from I Am Roses and the corsage pin is one of my very own creations.  The bow at the top of the bird cage was created using 

3 Girl JAM ribbon - Sterling Silver.

 I am feeling a bit better today, not as fatigued as I have been lately.  I was pleased to be able to craft a little.  My sweet guy arrived home early from work today.  I asked him if he would like to try to build me a spinning turn style for my Unity Stamps.  I saw someone use a jewelry stand for their collection of itty bitty stamps and this got me thinking about how I could store all of my goodies.  

He asked what I wanted and I told him the measurements that would work.

He came back inside after about 20 minutes and told me I couldn't peek.  I couldn't believe he was done already.  I know he is quite savvy when it comes to inventing wonderful ideas for things, but

I had no idea he was THIS GOOD . . . LOL!

Turns out, we had an old CD/DVD turn style in the garage that we were planning to throw out.  He simply cut some of the metal bars and shaved the ends down so that they weren't sharp enough to scratch or poke me.  And now I have a wonderful carousel to store all of my Unity Stamps . . . .

I LOVE IT!!!  

I bounced about the house for a while in excitement then started organizing them all.

Here is how it turned out . . .

It holds my KOM stamps (currently 6 kits)

 

My individual Ippity sets (currently 5 sets)

My individual Unity and Co Brand sets (currently 11 sets)

 

and all of my itty bitty stamps (currently at 22)

I am so excited to have all of my stamps moved from a rubber bin to this beautiful set up.  Now I can see all of the stamps I own at one glance.
