This post is going to be a quick one since I am getting dinner served.

I just finished a masculine card.  This doesn't happen very often, but I am quite pleased with the results.
The base card stock and mat layer are all by Recollections.  The panels were embossed with my argyle folder.  All edges were distressed with Studio G Brown ink.  I used stamps from 2 {Ippity} Sets.  Flowers on the bottom are from Now & Always.  The foliage in the center panel and the sentiment at the bottom are from Where You Should Be.

This card was made with the help and inspiration of some fabulously talented Ippity Chicks and a sketch over at Chick Challenges - #19 Sketch  along with the wonderful team and inspiration for the   CAS theme challenge at Unity Opporutity

~ ~ ~ ~ Amy Jo's Birthday Bash Blog Hop ~ ~ ~ ~

Good morning, fabulous friends and welcome to Amy Jo's Birthday Bash & Blog Hop! We are so excited you could join us today to help celebrate Amy's birthday!

This is a very special unique hop as we were not required to just stick with one particular subject or theme. Amy asked us all to use any of her favorite things to create a card or project with that in mind. Some examples of Amy's favorite things are the colors black, white, and hot pink, along with anything Alice in Wonderland, she listed some of her favorite animals, etc!

If you arrived here from Suzanne , then you are in the right place! If you just happened upon my blog today, please start at the beginning with Amy Jo @ Scrapping, Card Making and Living with Fibro) because you don't want to miss out on the fabulous prizes that are being sponsored!

This is a two-day hop; however, we are only making one project. That should give you two full days to go through the entire hop and leave comments on each blog and become followers of each blog, if you are not already, to be entered to win some of our sponsored prizes! Some blogs may be offering blog candy as well so this is a hop you're gonna wanna finish!

For my project to give to Amy, I created a Birthday Card.
I used her favorite colors.

Papers are Recollections CS, Echo Park Be Mine - Polka Dots and Stripes
Twine is Charcoal by the Twinery
Ribbon and eyelets from stash
HB Sentiment is by My Pink Stamper - Birthday Crazy
Stamped diamonds and inside stamped scrolls are by Tim Holtz
Inside Sentiment is by Unity - the TIME is NOW

Thank you so much for joining us and helping us celebrate along with Amy!

Your next stop is the talented Lisa

Please be to scroll down for more posts that you may have missed!!!!

Welcome to the 12th week of
Makin' it to the Mailbox Mondays!
I started this installment series to showcase the generosity that floods our Crafty Blogging Community.  So many times we receive a very generous prize from a dear friend and this is where we can shout out "THANK YOU" to those who really deserved it.

You are the people behind the
Magic of Making My Day!!!

I want to take this opportunity to shout a huge

 Thank You Clip Art

to all of you who have shown me your kindness and  your generosity.

Every week (if time allows and if it applies), on Monday I will be posting a new installment of Makin' it to the Mailbox Mondays, where I will give a proper shout out to the generosity I have experienced first hand each and every week!  I hope you will take the opportunity to visit all of the wonderful and talented bloggers that I mention each week, to see their beautiful creations.  Those of you who know me, know I wouldn't steer you in the wrong direction.  There is so much to see and all of these fine ARTISTS are just a click away!!!

First up, I would like to offer a sincere THANK YOU to Tanya at Nonna's Craft Corner.  Tanya was a Hop Stop during the fun and inspirational Blog Hop - Anniversary Amore Blog Hop that celebrated Candace's Blogaversary at Scrappin' 2 Little Princesses.  Tanya's project was AMAZING and so pretty.    I highly recommend you visit her blog and follow her.  She is an exceptional crafter and artist and her posts are always delightful to read.

During the Hop, Tanya was offering some Blog Candy.  I was ecstatic to find out I had won.

THANK YOU SO MUCH  Tanya!!!
******************************************
******************************************

My last sincere THANK YOU  this week goes out to the wonderful Kenzie at Krafty Hugzz.  I was pleased to find her blog and become a follower.  Her talent is top notch and her words are always inspiring and encouraging.  She is a wonderful and loyal follower at my blog, too.  It is always like a ray of sunshine is shining when I read her comments.

I was happy to join in on her Blog Candy Giveaway
and happy to find out I had won, too!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Kenzie!!

Kenzie is also celebrating her Birthday in a few days.
Please consider stopping by to join in the fun!!!

I hope that if I have inadvertently left anyone out of this gracious THANK YOU, that you all know you are all included in my thoughts, past and present.  Please, if you wish for me to do a shout out to you in a future Makin' it to the Mailbox Monday, don't hesitate to remind me of a prize you sent my way, and I will do my best to give you the credit you so rightfully deserve!!!

Also, if you would like to show off your own winnings, just title your post Makin' it to the Mailbox Monday and if I am your follower, I will gladly stop by to read it once I see it at my dashboard.  Or, if you'd like, you can leave a link with your comment below.  I would love to see the happiness that greets others in their Monday Mailboxes :O)

Showcase: Teresa's Card for CSDivas DT Monday

Today for my CSDivas DT Post, I am changing it up a bit.

The CSDivas have been an avid part of who I am as a crafter and creator and have helped me grow tremendously over the last year.  Since they are so warm and inviting, I wanted to share their encouragement with Teresa, my BFF.   So for today, I am showcasing a few crafty projects she completed.

She doesn't have a blog yet (but this is on my to do list to help her out...he he he).

She was  visiting this weekend to celebrate the 4 birthdays that took place this month just in our house....LOL.  Haylee is now 2, Lance Jr. is now 5,  I just turned 30 something, with the DH, Lance a day behind me turning 30 something as well.  Teresa and I have always shared compassion for art and I was blown away when she arrived today.  Look what she brought with her....

She said that she wanted to give us an Island Getaway!!!  LOVE IT!!!

Teresa spent a lot of time working on this fabulous cake for the entire February Birthday crew . . . and it was so so so very yummy.  The kids couldn't wait to dip into the wonderful waterfall of sugary sweet goodness.

After cake, there was crafty time.  Because, what is a BFF visit without some crafty time, right???
While I sat at my computer to show Teresa some inspiration and enable her to join Pinterest (LOL), she got started right away.  She knew she wanted to make a Birthday card for her dear sweet SIL, Jenn.   Isn't this lovely?  I think Teresa is really a true natural at this....don't you?

Cosmo Cricket - Primrose (dbl sided)
Sentiments from My Pink Stamper - Birthday Crazy
TH Distress Inks and Embossing Powder
Ovals cut using Creative Memories tools

I want to help her out by entering this into a few challenges, too.  She always gets to hear my excitement when I tell her I won an honorable mention,  a top pick or a prize at the challenge blogs.  I would love to see her excitement with her first win.....

Announcing the "Green Blend Award"

Announcing the "Green Blend Award"

I am happy to announce that my dear sweet Blend,

Beckie of Just B Creative Crazy contacted me a while back asking to join our efforts in creating this fabulous new Blog Award.

All the credit really needs to go to her, I just helped a little!

Here is how Beckie announced the new award:

There are several blog awards that bounce around in blog land. To each award is a purpose and pride. I wanted to create an award for those who are co-bloggers and friends. I wanted to create an award that I could give to those who have helped me develop as a blogger, a crafter, and friend.

When I first began in the vast world of blogging, I had zero knowledge of what to do. What the heck is a gadget…and isn’t adding it supposed to help, not drive me nuts!?!

There were a few people along the way that took me under their wing and helped me even after 5 emails of “I have no idea what you are talking about!!” haha

So to honor those whom I have befriended, I have created an award. My stupendous friend, Jessica, of Jessica’s Craft Shaque coined the term “Blend”. She says this is a friend and a co-blogger. I just love that word.

I contacted Mrs Jessica and politely asked her to be co-creator of the award and for copyrights to use the term “Blend”. She graciously accepted to both requests.

The “Green” portion represents how we should be kind to one another and help one another…such as being “Green” and helping our environment. Reissue the kindness that someone once gave to you as an infant blogger. Recycle the ideas you have learned or invented to pass along to up and coming crafters. Reduce the frustrations of wanting to a be blogger with magnitude.

Here are the terms under which this “Green Blend Award” are to be given.

1.  This award is for any co-blogging friend who has helped you develop your blog in any and all ways.

2.  This award is for any co-blogging friend who has cheered you along in your blog building, craft advancing career.

3.  This award is for any co-blogging friend who always stops by and is kind to you. You can count on them to always be one of the great comments at the end of your post.

4.  This award is to be given to 3 to 5 Blends whom you feel meet the listed requirements.

5.  Create a post with the terms of use and publish your Blends of choice.

6.  Blend of choice may copy the award from your blog and proudly post it on theirs.

7.  Blend of choice may continue the kindness by issuing this award to keep the circle forever growing.

The Green Blend Award recipients are:
Beckie - Just B Creative Crazy
I see that the "Other" Jessica @ Chick-n-Scrap beat me to getting this to you...LOL

Luisa - Creative Designs by Luisa

Robin - The Cricut Scrapper

Carri - DoubleClick AKA Abusybee

Lisa - A Mermaid's Craft

Dr. Sonia SV - Cards, Crafts, and Kids Projects

Each of these fine ladies listed above have been around since the beginning of my crafty adventures.  Each BLEND continues to visit and encourage
my crafty posts.
Please do not feel left out if you are not listed.
I enjoy all of my Blends, new and old alike!!!

Teresa's Crafty Visit and ADORABLE Card

Hello Bloggers!!  I am going to let Teresa hijack my blog to tell you about her A*D*O* R*A*B*L*E card she just finished.  I love having my BFF over to share in crafty time and am so happy to be her little "enabler".  We made a fun trip to our local craft store and 2 hours later returned home to get crafty.

So without further ado, I now present you to Teresa . . . .

Hello everyone.  I am happy to be learning how to blog.  I am good with writing emails, but have never blogged.   I have always enjoyed crafting and have just started getting back into working with paper.  I used to decoupage anything I could get my hands on....LOL.  Now, I am really having a lot of fun with paper crafts (ie cards, altered items, tags, etc.).  I was lucky enough to get a Cricut for V-Day from my DH and just purchased a Sizzix Texture Boutique.  I love visiting Jessica for crafty time together.  I grab her list of challenges, look at the sketches, and decide which ones I would like to play around with.

I can't wait to read all your comments and welcome your input.

I started with a light brown textured card stock as my base.  I gathered some coordinating dp from my new Recollections Stack - Bold Basics.  I followed the sketch from Ribbon Carousel this week.  The image is from the fabulous Meljen's Designs colored with Whisper Strokes Dual Tip Watercolor Markers and colored pencils.  Twine is Cappuccino by The Twinery.  The grapevine hearts were a crafty find at the LSS.  I used the MS enchanted heart punch for the 2 hearts along the outside of the oval image.  Buttons from stash.

Challenge Entries:
Allsorts - #142 AG
Meljen's Designs - #97 AG
Penny's Paper Crafty - #73 AG
Cards For Men - #4 Valentine's Day/Love
Love to Create - #2 Buttons & Bows
Celebrate The Occasion - #50 Valentine's Day (Must use a Heart)

My 1st Mixed Media Tag

I have a permanent smile right now from all the fun I had creating this next project to share with all of you.
I have admired all of the beautiful Mixed Media projects I have seen over the course of the last year of blogging and was excited to try a bit of it for myself.
First:  I sprayed my Perfect Pearl Mist directly onto the Kraft tag and dried it with my heating tool.
Then I used my homemade mixture of Vermillion glimmer mist.
For the next step, I randomly stamped some flowers onto the tag using Vintage Photo ink.  After that, I randomly stamped the sentiment onto the tag using the same ink.  I grabbed a few paper scraps from  my stash and inked up the little girl with her umbrella onto cream texture cs, diagonal stripe dp, and a yellow flower pattern dp.  I cut all the pieces out to paper piece together onto the cream cs.
I stamped the sentiment onto cream cs using Vintage Photo, then added the embossing powder and heat set it.  I fussy cut around the sentiment and then spritzed it with some homemade green glimmer mist.  I prepped my paints and added a few roses and lace directly to the tag.
I placed foam squares behind the girl for added dimension.
I trimmed the umbrella with glossy accents, highlighted her boots with a black gel pen, handpainted the grass, used orange watercolors to paint the flower on the sentiment tag, and added all the embellishments to finish it off.

I was inspired by and will enter the following challenges . . . .
(Lace, Orange button and roses, Vermillion ink, Embossing powder)
Anything Goes - Eyes Down for Bingo (charms, choice, flowers)

Items used include:
Kraft tag
Perfect Pearls Mist
Handmade glimmer mists (Vermillion and Green)
Distress Ink (Vintage Photo, Black)
Embossing Powder (Vintage Photo)
Paper Piecing using several dp
Butter Cream Twine from The Twinery
Watercolors (orange and green)
Roses from I Am Roses
Charm and Button from stash
Lace trim
Butterfly die cut from Nataliya
Glossy Accents
Black gel pen

Do You Believe in Magic - Friends with Flair Friday (early)

Today's card is one full of color.
I LOVE COLOR.
My BFF came to visit for a crafty day and
brought a huge box of her newly acquired crafty goodies!
She happened to bring some Rainbow Papers and
I instantly new I wanted to use them up.
I started with basic white card stock for my base.
I used textured cardstock to mat the rainbow paper, holographic paper, and stamped image and sentiments.
The rainbow paper was embossed using my swirl folder by Darice.
I used the new border punch Teresa brought with her to accent the right hand side of my card.
The sentiment is from the Unity set - the TIME is NOW
The image is from the Unity KOM 8/09 following my heart....
I colored the image using my Whisper Strokes.

I will be linking up with Unity tomorrow for the weekly Friends with Flair.
If you don't follow the FWF yet and you love Unity and {Ippity}, it
is an awesome weekly link up with
the opportunity to gain new friends and obtain some beautiful inspiration
along the way!!!

I will also enter this card into the following challenges:

OSAAT #100 Anything Goes

Hello to all of my crafty bloggy Blends!

It is with great pleasure and honor that I get to announce the new challenge
over at One Stitch At A Time

This is my first time creating as a DT member with OSAAT and I am super excited to join the team.
This week's challenge is ANYTHING GOES.    OSAAT has some wonderful prize sponsors and extraordinary DT inspiration (if I must say so myself).

Head on over to the OSAAT Challenge blog and get in on the fun.

But before you go...peek at this.

For this challenge, I was offered the opportunity to play
with the Scent of a Woman image by Stitchy herself.

You can find all of the images you see on the DT cards at Stitchy Bear Stamps.
The base card stock (orange) is by Recollections.  The DPs are from a K&Company boxed stack I purchased a long time ago.  The lace ribbon was a wonderful thrifty find at my local Goodwill.  Thanks go out to Nataliya at Love Crafts Forever, my sister DT at OSAAT and a dear sweet Blend.  The butterflies and swirl were a gift from her!  The flowers were created using my Flower Shop cartridge and the swirl began as plain white.  I inked it up with an orange Studio G ink pad then sprayed it with Liquid Pearls.  I colored the image using the 3 wonderful Copics I received from another dear sweet Blend, Ellen at CardMonkey.  Thanks Ellen.  The sentiment is by Stephanie at Whimsical Designs and I must shout Thank You to her as well.  I won all 4 sets of her fabulous stamps and have been using them on all sorts of projects.  Please feel free to head over to visit these fine young ladies to see why they are such dear sweet Blends (Bloggers+Friends).  You may make a friendly connection along the way.

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Soul Sisters Layout w/ *video tutorial*

Today I worked with the PageMaps sketch we are using at Paper Secrets for the
SYAO #2 challenge.

I picked up (snagged) the picture of my MIL from her Facebook and plan to
offer this layout to her as a Valentine's Day gift.
All details are in the video and links will be listed at the bottom of the
post for you to head over and check out the sketch and
stamps I have used for yourself!

I am attempting to improve my skills in creating Video Tutorials.
This episode was in 5 parts.  The first lesson I have learned is
I need to get a memory card for this camera that can hold more than
5 minutes of straight video at a time.
My editing skills are not too great, but I have attempted to piece the
parts together for one full length tutorial.

I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video
and would WELCOME any comments
and suggestions you might have to help me with future videos!
Here is the finished Layout
L - Lace
O - Orange card stock
V - Vintage Photo ink
E - ENJOY
