Challenge #2 - Pink By Design 2nd Year Anniversary PARTY

OK,
So I made some good use out of my dry time
on Challenge #1
and got busy working on a Christmas Card
I started by inking the Small Hexagons
(my favorite PBD Stamp thus far...)
using 3 ink shades:
TH Distress -forest moss-
TH Distress -barn door-
Quick Quotes - Green with Envy

The bottom layer is the exact size of the stamp
and then the middle and top layers were trimmed to
give a layered effect.

The sentiment inside the circle tag, is from the Mini Wrappers stamp set.
I used a circle stamp from my jillibean Dutch Mustard Soup set by Unity Stamp Co.
to give a border around the sentiment.
I then punched it out using my 2" round punch.
The red twine is from doodlebug designs and
the green twine is from K Andrew.

I also used some 3D Foam Squares for each layer
to give a nice touch of dimension!

The base card stock is Core'dinations Pearl (cream color)

♪ Showcase at the Shaque ♪ 13 Q&A's on the 13th w/ June's Guest: Heather Lynn

I am ecstatic to bring you a new monthly series here at my blog!!!
On the 13th of each month, I will be inviting a Guest to SHOWCASE!
There will be a series of 13 questions that they will answer in hopes to make new connections
across Cyber Space and Blog Land
as well as teach you a few fun facts about themselves
that you may not know.
For my first guest, I am honored to have the Sweet and Talented, Heather Lynn!

Please join me in Welcoming Heather and leaving her some love!!!
1. What’s your name?
Heather Lynn, HL, Mommy..lol

2. What is the name and link of your blog?  How long have you been blogging?
Random Recipes, Paper Crafts, and Photos by HL
http://heathernovinger.blogspot.com,
and I started my blog I think in 2010 but I hardly posted anything until this year.

3. What is your favorite craft to work with (type, technique, style)?
I like crafts of all kinds but my favorite is scrapbooking. I love mini albums! I think my style is all over the place.. Love to try new things!!

4. Do you have other hobbies?
I love to cook, bake, and photography.

5. How did you get started in the Craft World?
I started scrapbooking after I had my twins in 2003. My brother had given me some money for my birthday and told me I had to spend it on ME. So I went into Michael's and walked around for a while and came across a scrapbook kit, bought it, took it home, and got started.
One of the best decisions I have ever made! ;)

6. Where are you from?
Lebanon, Missouri but now I live in between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio

7. If you could give a tip to a new crafter/blogger, what would it be?
New at crafts or blogging? Just jump right in! You can make wonderful friends and the inspiration is limitless!!

8. Name some things that you have learned this year, that you are glad you learned?
Hot glue works best for rolled flowers, how to use a scoreboard to make rosettes, not to let your kids eat rings and meatballs in the living room on light colored carpet..lol  And that the crafting/blogging community is full of  fun, talented, and giving people!

9. Do you have anything personal you wish to share with the readers?
I am a mom of 5 beautiful children so I don't have time to come by and visit all of my favorite blogs every day but I will come by every chance I get! I enjoy seeing everyone's projects and getting ideas for my own. :)

10. What are your future ambitions?
I would LOVE to teach scrapbooking/card/Cricut classes..I love teaching people tips and tricks I have learned.

11. What challenges have you faced, but conquered in crafting?
Time...finding time to craft can be tough with children, including a baby. So sometimes I have to let the house go a little so I can get my crafty time in.

12.  When told you would be interviewed for this Guest Post, what question were you hoping to be asked?
What is my favorite embellishments to use on my projects?

13.  What answer would you give to the unasked question?
OWLS!!
Love them! I use owl stickers, owl die cuts, wooden owls, punched owls, stamped owls...

Helping Beckie at Just B Creative Crazy and Praying for Marisa!

I am so blessed to be able
to share blogs
with my sweet Blend
Beckie of Just B Creative Crazy
again today.

A lot of times when I think of Beckie, I think
of all the cards she has made
that are Uplifting and Put a Smile on your Face!

I only hope that she is experiencing ALL positive "side effects"
during her move.
Hugs Beckie!!!

Today I am also blessed to take part in
a Card Drive that I found on a
friend from HS's Facebook Wall!
Thanks Shalin for announcing this today!
The cards will
be mailed to a sweet young
girl by the name of
Marisa Kay
at the Akron Children's Hospital.
Please feel free to visit
Marisa's FB page to read more
about her unique story
and to get involved in sending
your Get Well Wishes!

If you are interested in mailing a card
to Marisa Kay, here is the mailing address
Marisa Vincent
1 Perkins Square
Akron, OH 44302
Floor 3 Room 3631
You can also take time to create an eCard
and send it directly to the hospital, too.
Here is the link for that
Akron Children's Hospital eCard

And here is my
card to send to this sweet little girl!

The card was created using the following:
Base - Navy textured card stock (4x4)
Sun image - Unity KOM {FOLLOW your own}
TH Distress Ink (Barn Door)
fussy cut and reduced size to fit in corner of card
Whale - Create A Critter cartridge (2 1/2")
inked with VersaMagic Cloud White and embossed with Whispers Opaque embossing powder
Waves - created using a broken piece of a wooden doll house (my kids demolished it, but I knew I would find a use for the roof top pieces...LOL)
Bow - Twinery Twine (charcoal)

This card was made for the sole purpose of helping others!
No challenges will be entered with this card, but it is sure
to make me feel like a winner, knowing
I helped Beckie at her Blog
and helped Marisa by making her smile!
