I {LOVE} grabbing my 3 Girl JAM Crinkle Ribbon almost every time I plan on getting crafty.  I have to admit though, sometimes, it is hard for me to use my Flair Buttons because I just want to keep them forever!!!!  LOL.  The Jute Ribbon and String is quickly becoming another strong favorite "GO-TO" Product in my Craft Shaque!

I have been so eager to start decorating some Glass Mason Jars for the Holidays.  A few weeks ago, I started by tinting them using Mod Podge and Food Coloring (primary colors).  I applied 2 coats to each jar, applying the 2nd coat before the Mod Podge became tacky.
Here are the TINTED Jars (still in their drying stage)

I really adored the products all grouped together before starting and could start envisioning the finished project easily!

I decided to grab some of my October Afternoon embellishments, too

I started with the Lids

Then onto the Jars
I used a little bit of all of the Holiday Products
First, I used the Jute Ribbon around the necks of the jars.  I layered the Ribbon Candy Crinkle Ribbon over that.  Then I tied my handmade tags -- made from the October Afternoon paper embellishments and a the 3 Girl JAM Flair Buttons.  I then added a signle Prima Coventry Roses (Londenerry) onto the knots of each Crinkle Ribbon tie.

I added a Flair Button to the tops of the lids as well.

Close up of the handmade tags using the Flair Buttons

I made a quick matching card complete with more Jute Ribbon.  The image and sentiment are a Unity Stamp Co. Itty Bitty called most WONDERFUL time created by Joslyn Nielson & Angie Blom.
I heat embossed both with red embossing powder.  The sentiment is on a cream colored tag I cut with a scallop square punch.  The sleigh is stamped onto vellum.
The ornament card stock was in my stash and I don't recall the Line it belongs to....sorry.

Here is the finished grouping

To show its purpose, here is the grouping being PUT TO GOOD USE!!!!

Finished the Altered Memo Board....take a peek! :)

I was really under the wire to get this challenge in during the fun
Pink By Design
2 year Anniversary Celebration
on Saturday.
It was left a bit "unfinished"
in my last post.

Originally, I only left the Altered Memo Board
as you see here . . .
(Directions and Product Descriptions are at
the bottom of this post!)

Kenzie really wanted to add some buttons in spots to spruce it up.
I personally wanted to fix the spots that didn't
ink well,
and she said to leave it alone.
She liked the "abstract" and "distressed" look I suppose!

The more she looked at it, she wasn't real happy with how
sparkly it turned out.
She isn't much into Glitter...
I know, and she is MY DAUGHTER?  LOL!

That's alright though.  I am sure my Step Daughter, who is 9 years old,
will adore a sparkly memo board for her room.

Kenzie picked out some fun buttons from my stash
and I plugged in my hot glue gun.
 I am actually surprised
how much they really added to the entire project.

Here is the finished Memo Board...

WHAT DO YOU THINK???

Should I make some more?

I bought a lot of these plain black Memo Board
last Fall  during a fun
Clearance Sale
with the intention to alter them somehow.

Any suggestions for a certain color or theme???
 Enlighten Me Please Blends!!!

 DESCRIPTION AND PRODUCTS
I first spray painted with
Krylon Glitter Blast spray paint (Twilight Sky),
which I was fortunate to win
during a
Glitter Blast Tuesday with Mark Montano
several months ago.
 While it was drying,
I inked up the Small Hexagons Stamp by Pink By Design
using VersaMagic - Cloud White.
I stamped directly onto the surface
of both pencil holders.
I then used my Opaque embossing powder over the ink,
and heat embossed.
The paint dried, and my daughter and I were struggling to
get the holders screwed back
into the memo board....to meet the challenge deadline....with only 5 minutes
left to spare.
LOL . . . .Just under the wire.

I am ecstatic to bring you a new monthly series here at my blog!!!
On the 13th of each month, I will be inviting a Guest to SHOWCASE!
There will be a series of 13 questions that they will answer in hopes to make new connections
across Cyber Space and Blog Land
as well as teach you a few fun facts about themselves
that you may not know.
For my first guest, I am honored to have the Sweet and Talented, Heather Lynn!

Please join me in Welcoming Heather and leaving her some love!!!
1. What’s your name?
Heather Lynn, HL, Mommy..lol

2. What is the name and link of your blog?  How long have you been blogging?

I like crafts of all kinds but my favorite is scrapbooking. I love mini albums! I think my style is all over the place.. Love to try new things!!

4. Do you have other hobbies?
I love to cook, bake, and photography.

5. How did you get started in the Craft World?
I started scrapbooking after I had my twins in 2003. My brother had given me some money for my birthday and told me I had to spend it on ME. So I went into Michael's and walked around for a while and came across a scrapbook kit, bought it, took it home, and got started.
One of the best decisions I have ever made! ;)

6. Where are you from?
Lebanon, Missouri but now I live in between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio

7. If you could give a tip to a new crafter/blogger, what would it be?
New at crafts or blogging? Just jump right in! You can make wonderful friends and the inspiration is limitless!!

8. Name some things that you have learned this year, that you are glad you learned?
Hot glue works best for rolled flowers, how to use a scoreboard to make rosettes, not to let your kids eat rings and meatballs in the living room on light colored carpet..lol  And that the crafting/blogging community is full of  fun, talented, and giving people!

9. Do you have anything personal you wish to share with the readers?
I am a mom of 5 beautiful children so I don't have time to come by and visit all of my favorite blogs every day but I will come by every chance I get! I enjoy seeing everyone's projects and getting ideas for my own. :)

10. What are your future ambitions?
I would LOVE to teach scrapbooking/card/Cricut classes..I love teaching people tips and tricks I have learned.

11. What challenges have you faced, but conquered in crafting?
Time...finding time to craft can be tough with children, including a baby. So sometimes I have to let the house go a little so I can get my crafty time in.

12.  When told you would be interviewed for this Guest Post, what question were you hoping to be asked?
What is my favorite embellishments to use on my projects?

13.  What answer would you give to the unasked question?

I am feeling a bit better today, not as fatigued as I have been lately.  I was pleased to be able to craft a little.  My sweet guy arrived home early from work today.  I asked him if he would like to try to build me a spinning turn style for my Unity Stamps.  I saw someone use a jewelry stand for their collection of itty bitty stamps and this got me thinking about how I could store all of my goodies.
He asked what I wanted and I told him the measurements that would work.

He came back inside after about 20 minutes and told me I couldn't peek.  I couldn't believe he was done already.  I know he is quite savvy when it comes to inventing wonderful ideas for things, but
I had no idea he was THIS GOOD . . . LOL!

Turns out, we had an old CD/DVD turn style in the garage that we were planning to throw out.  He simply cut some of the metal bars and shaved the ends down so that they weren't sharp enough to scratch or poke me.  And now I have a wonderful carousel to store all of my Unity Stamps . . . .
I LOVE IT!!!
I bounced about the house for a while in excitement then started organizing them all.

Here is how it turned out . . .

It holds my KOM stamps (currently 6 kits)

My individual Ippity sets (currently 5 sets)

My individual Unity and Co Brand sets (currently 11 sets)

and all of my itty bitty stamps (currently at 22)

I am so excited to have all of my stamps moved from a rubber bin to this beautiful set up.  Now I can see all of the stamps I own at one glance.

Thank You Lance . . I LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!

CSDivas' "Spring Fling" Blog Hop 2012 {Day 3}

Spring Fling Blog Hop!!  March 12th to 14th

Welcome to Day 3 of the Hop

Be sure to go HERE if you missed Day 1or Day 2
to start from the CSDivas Blog

It’s time to celebrate SPRING!!  So come hop along with us
For 3 days as we share our Spring projects.  The Divas have prepared
a wide range of projects that encompass all things SPRING!

There will be one prize offered to one random person.  To be eligible
you MUST leave a comment on each and every Diva’s blog on all three days,
and on each daily post here at CSD, letting us know that you have commented
on each of the blogs.
 GRAND PRIZE

While you are hopping along, you may find that a Diva may be offering
a prize on their own personal blog as well.  So you definitely won’t want to
skip over anyone.
*************
Did you get a chance to see all the lovely projects the Divas DT created Monday and Tuesday?
Great inspiration from them all!
*************
To  continue with my flower theme, I chose to make a wreath for the final day of the Hop!

This wreath doesn't have any Cricut Cuts but I did make the rosettes from
some wired ribbon, paper flowers, and glittery paper.  I added the Mardi Gras beads and a few other Easter/Spring embellishments (jellishments are by doodlebug design inc.) which I had in my stash since last Easter.  The wreath is a 12" grapevine  round wreath.  I started by wrapping my set of lights first, then adding some pink ribbon, and finishing the outside with a fabulous yellow ribbon full of fun and colorful Easter eggs.  I almost forgot I had it, until I found it at the bottom of a ribbon box yesterday!  SCORE!!!.   I wrapped the beads around next, leaving ample space in between each wrap.  Next came the rosettes.  These were made with the same technique you use to make paper rosettes, then finished off with some paper flowers and false stamens in the centers. I chose to use several of the other embellishments to accent the color scheme of the ribbons and flowers.

close up of the adorable little bunny!

*************

I owe my inspiration to a few challenges that helped inspire me (since I really haven't had much of my own crafty mojo to run on lately) to create this Home Decor.

Allsorts #145 Say it With Flowers
Queen of My Craftroom - Spring Altered Project
Krafty Girls - #3 Get Growing (handmade flower)

*************

For my blog candy, I will offer up some 'random' Unity Stamps to one lucky follower and commenter.  Unfortunately, due to personal finances right now and the high prices of international shipping, I will only be able to mail the candy to a winner in the US or Canada.  I really hate to do this, because I have a lot of lucky Blends that live over seas.  I have never not included them, and have been able to ship to as far as India in the past.   But, the time will come when I am offering candy again (some time in the future) where you will ALL be included, once again.  I hope you can understand.

To win, be sure to follow my blog and stop back all three days for the hop and leave a comment on each day's post.

One of the best  things about Spring, is when the colors start emerging out of the ground and bloom into gorgeous arrays of cheerful scenery.  I love all types of flowers and was super excited to get the opportunity to use my Flower Shoppe Cartridge.  It hadn't seen much action since I purchased it a few months ago.  Why not for Spring?

I cut a lot of different flowers at different sizes.  I used some really old papers that I had in a stash from early last year.  It was a retro stack by K&Company, I believe.  I chose to use oranges, yellows, teals, and reds.  I also used my core'dinations "Produce Greens" for the leaves.  I sanded the leaves before applying them behind each flower.  For the stems, I took some ordinary wooden kabob skewers and inked them up with a mixture of Adrinondak Alcohol Inks (Stream blue and Sunshine yellow).  I used a dab of hot glue here and there and placed the stems in a beautiful old vase courtesy of my sweet MIL.  My bouquet is now complete!

My little sweet Ariana, who will be 4 next month, has claimed dibs on the vase of flowers.  She thinks it is "so pretty" so it will set in her room for her to admire.
