ERMAHGERD!!! - My First EVER Shaker Card with 3 Girl JAM!!!

Wow, three posts in the last two days....
I think I have a Crafty Fever!!!
!!!YAY!!!

I greet you today for my 3 Girl JAM Design Team Post.

I get to show you the darling miniature bows I am so obsessed with lately!
It's just something about things that are pretty and tiny
that make me feel like a kid again!!!
And, of course they are SUPER EASY to make using the 3 Girl JAM Bow Maker!!!
and the  White ribbon from the July 2012 limited edition Red, White and Blue bundle.

I had started by using my Sizzix Christmas Tree Die on Produce Green Core card stock.
As soon as I picked up the left over scraps, I got the idea to create my first EVER Shaker Card.
I embossed the outer frame with a snowflakes folder, then sanded lightly, and added some Platinum Dew Drop ink.   I applied some Stardust Stickles using a cotton ball for added sparkle.
For my "shaker pouch", I used a plastic treat bag and added some Green, Gold and Red micro beads.  I grabbed some little "bits and bobs" I had kept from different Cricut Cut leftovers
and scraps left from using my punches.  There were some teeny, tiny,
fun Scarlet Pearl Core card stock pieces (from a banner cut off of Pretty Pennants) as well as a few blue and green snowflakes leftover after  using an ekSuccess border punch.
(SEE Heather Lynn, I knew I would use them...LOL)

Behind the top layer, I used core couture Green card stock, embossed
it with a Swirls folder and sanded the swirls lightly.  I added a touch ofGold Dew Drops ink to finish it.   The ribbon garland was created by simply knotting up the Holly Berry Red  Crinkle Ribbon  and adhering behind the tree cut.

The JOY sentiment is a rub-on transfer.
The border was created by using the same Snowflake punch I mentioned before.
I lined the inside of my card with core couture Red card stock.

The current Challenge at 3 Girl JAM  is still open until Thursday night.
The theme is a fabulous Thanksgiving Color Challenge.
I tried to incorporate those colors (a hint of some and a dash of others!!!)
and jumped over the Thanksgiving theme a bit and skipped straight to Christmas.
I think they work well for both Holidays, don't you???

Please join in the fun and play along
for a chance to win some AMAZING PRIZES
and a Guest Designer Spot at 3 Girl JAM!!!

I am also still going strong (well stronger than I have crafted lately...he he he)
and playing along in the Core'dinations Hard  CORE Crop
So many wonderful challenges and tons of inspiration to get you in the mood to
craft for the Holidays!!!

I decided to enter a 2nd project into the Ribbon Challenge being hosted by Debbie Standard.

I would be delighted to see you join along too!!!
There is also a fun FB Group for the event,
where everyone is chatting it up and sharing their projects!!!
to chat with all of the lovely Design Team and Participants!

Hard CORE Cropper - 2nd challenge with Unity

Did you know
that the 2nd
is in full swing???
So many wonderful challenges and
tons of inspiration to get
you in the mood to
craft for the Holidays!!!

I started playing along today.
My first task was to dig out
all of my core'dinations
products to use in the fun challenges.
Lots of colors, textures,
and glittery goodness was just begging for me
to play!

After making a fun gift bag and matching tag
just a short while ago,
I now needed a card to match it all!!

I decided to next play along with the
Ribbon Challenge
being hosted by Debbie Standard.

All of the products and techniques I used
are the same as my Previous Challenge Entry
with only one exception, Unity Stamps!
The snowflake stamp is from the September 2012 KOM
and the sentiment is from the August 2012 KOM .
I used the November KOM Sketch Challenge
to help me with piecing it all together.
Here is the sketch

I am still feeling quite crafty
and want to begin working on more
projects to play along

{Holiday} Hard Core Crop - 1 challenge DONE!!!

Did you know
that the 2nd
is in full swing???

So many wonderful challenges and
tons of inspiration to get
you in the mood to
craft for the Holidays!!!

I started playing along today.
My first task was to dig out
all of my core'dinations
products to use in the fun challenges.
They are spread out all over
the craft room and the colors, textures,
and glittery goodness was just begging for me
to play!
I started on a fun
gift bag for my little man to give
to his Kindergarten teacher.
He just adores her and I love doing
a little extra for the
ones who help us mold
our little ones' minds
while they are away from home.
Thank You Mrs. Campbell!

The challenge is to create a
and is being hosted
by the wonderful
DT Member,  Jennifer Edwardson

I decided to use a fun Backpack Gift Bag cut
from the Sesame Street Seasons Cartridge.
I cut it at fit to page and it cut at 11.5" .
For the backpack, I used
core'dinations - Produce Greens

I grabbed my Sizzix Big Shot, my embossing folders,
and my Sizzix Dies I recently purchased.
First, I used Ornament #2 and cut several layers
to give it some dimension.
I used core'dinations Black Cat card stock and
core couture glitter card stock (Black , Red, and Light Green) for the ornaments.

I embossed the top layers of each ornament using Swirls, Argyle, & Snowflakes folders.
For the small piece just under each bow on the ornament, I placed it on a music note embossing folder  so that it would get a nice striped effect on each one.  I sanded the top layer of the
ornaments as well as the  backpack in random spots.
You can see that I used the swirls folder again on the
flap of the backpack, and used the argyle pattern on the shoulder straps.

The tag was created by using another Sizzix Die cut (Tag w/Present)
and adding a matching ornament over the present.

The argyle ribbon is from my stash.  I used it to tie a small piece
at the end of the tag, as well as pleating it along
the front upper edge of the back pack.
The small bow (to the left) was created using my

I am eager to begin working on more
projects to play along

All of this Christmas Splendor
Here is the project I am sharing
for the Showcase Today:

For my card I used white card stock as the base.
I stamped the Owl Crew using the
Freakin' Adorable Itty Bitty by Unity Stamp Co.

I used embossing ink and 3 separate colors of embossing powder.
I just sprinkled a light amount of each color
in opposite spots around the image.
(one color at a time and shake off excess onto separate work
areas on your craft table, so not to mix your colors)
The sentiment is from the Owly Hoo sentiment set by K. Andrew.

I finished off with a fun Pinque Peacock Felt Flower
and Beaded Stick Pin (so happy to be introducing
some orange hues to the fun mix at the store).

Thanks Heather Lynn, for a wonderful

2. What is the name and link of your blog?  How long have you been blogging?

I starting blogging in October of 2010.
I was pretty scared at first and didn't post much,
but now I have my personal blog
and own 4 challenge blogs :)

 3.  What is your favorite craft to work with (type, technique, style)?
I  I don't really have a favorite craft.

comes to crafting. I do seem to have a lot of paper though :)

4. Do you have other hobbies?
I love to read and I sew on occasion...when time permits :)

5. How did you get started in the Craft World?
I have always dabbled in one type of craft or another, but started paper crafting about 6 years ago. A friend had given me an empty scrapbook and a bunch of papers as a baby shower gift when i was pregnant with my son. It sat in the closet for 2 years and one day I decided to get it out and play around. I was instantly hooked.

I have lived in Saint Louis, MO for the last 8 years.

Don't worry about what everyone else thinks of your crafting. Your opinion is the only one that matters.

8. Name some things that you have learned this year, that you are glad  you  learned?

10. What are your future ambitions?
I would love to open a Coffee Bar/Scrapbook Shop, but first I have to win the lottery.

I was so scared to work with digital images. Now they are pretty much the only "stamp" I use.

12.  When told you would be interviewed for this Guest Post, what

13.  What answer would you give to the unasked question?
I love my Cricut and wish I had time to use it more!

Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids BLOG HOP

Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids
BLOG HOP
November 10-12, 2012

"In the eyes of children, we find the joy of Christmas. In their hearts, we find its meaning."

As joyous as Christmas is for most families, for some, their holidays are filled with worry, medical treatments and tests, and pain -- for their child must be hospitalized or she or he needs long-term care rather than being home with their families.

For these kids, Santa doesn't slip down a chimney but rather, often comes in the guise of community volunteers who help make the season bright.

This is the second Christmas season that our own band of dedicated and loving paper crafters have come together to make Holiday banners for children who are too sick to be home for the holidays.
Welcome to the Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids blog hop!

I am especially pleased that this year, not only have our numbers of generous crafters swelled so our Hop is over three full days, but also, that we have partnered with another great cause and recipient of our banners!

By teaming up with Madison Womack's I FEEL THE LOVE PROJECT, the banners our crafters have handmade will be going to the hospitalized children at Children's Hospital Central California!

I'll be sending this to Madison and the children at CHCC who are benefiting from the
I Feel the Love project in December:

The pennants were cut from
Pretty Pennants Cartridge at 3"
using cream card stock (base) and a Royal Green and Red
card stock for the top layers.

The font I used for JOLLY is from
Elmo's Party cut at 1.5" using the same cream and red paper.

The cute little reindeer is cut from Create-A-Critter
at 3" from textured card stock (tan, brown, red, & black)
I also added a few eyelashes and a cute
bow made of Twinery Twine to "cutesy" her up a bit!

Now, if you feel inspired to make and donate your own banner or a Christmas card or two to the I Feel the Love Project,
you'll be entered into a drawing to win
the wonderful HOSTESS Prize:

CARDMONKEY's SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS
Super-Fantastic Gift Basket
Throughout the month of December, Ellen will be adding crafty goodness to this basket so that it will be over-flowing and ripe and ready for under your tree. She'll be picking the winner on Christmas Eve, announcing the winner on Christmas Day, and if you win, you'll have the basket in your hands by New Year's Day!!

Stay tuned to the CardMonkey blog over the next few weeks leading up to the drawing, because she will be posting the contents of the basket as they mount.
OK, so to win the GRAND PRIZE
(all continents are welcome!),
here's what you must do:
1.  Be a follower of the CardMonkey blog and tell Ellen in your comments how she can contact you.
2.  Leave a comment telling Ellen what you plan to make and send to the IFTL project by their deadline, December 10.  Then do it!

by Madison by the deadline
to be eligible to win the GRAND prize!

3 Girl JAM

3 Girl Jam and Creative Inspiration Paints have teamed up to show you all the fun things you can create with ribbon and paint! Make sure to check out our stores to see the latest and greatest products that you can use on your own projects!

I really enjoyed pairing up the fabulous Creative Inspirations Paint
with my undeniable love for 3 Girl JAM Ribbon.

I started with Kraft Cardstock and stamped
the wonderful Christy Tomlinson Image, SHE leaped by Unity
using Archival Black Ink.
I used all the colors that CIP was so generous to send
me for this Hop!
Thanks CIP!
The colors used were:
Sapphire,  Mocha Latte, Tutu Pink,
Fairy Dust (<<<love this>>>)
Sea Foam, and Orange .
I painted several layers until I got the effect
that I was hoping for.

I loved that the dress pattern matched
a wonderful Chevron Canvas Strip from 3 Girl JAM.
I added a small piece to the left and to the right,
trimming to flow along the outline of her dress.
I also used the beautiful
Christmas Candy Crinkle Ribbon
to tie around the waste of the dress.

If you are wondering where
I obtained the cute little pink
fabric flower and guessed
Pinque Peacock . . .
then you would be correct!
